PR-Racing ry works actively in the rally. We participate in many rallies and in the summer e.g. In organizing the HYAcenter Rally.

We are looking for new faces to join the company. If you don’t want to race a car, become an official or security official and there’s always a need for coffee makers and sausage makers too.

Test rally again in July

PR-Racing will do a decent test rally again next summer. The organizing team had already had the idea that 2024 might be a gap year in terms of making the rally, but those plans sometimes change.

One significant reason for doing the rally is that we got really good feedback from the two WRC teams from last summer’s HYAcenter Rally. It is quite likely that we will once again have an international color in our competition.

The rally will be held on Saturday the 27th. July. The time was chosen to be the weekend in question, which falls between the World Cup rallies in Latvia and Finland. The center of the competition is Ideapark.

The approximately 100 kilometer SS route runs around Tampere. There are many sections that were once used in Jyväskylä Suurajot.

Viljami Saarinen again in the lead

The racing season of the Rallicross SM series continued in Kouvola and Viljami Saarinen continued his good performances also at the Tykkimäki motor track. Saarinen, representing PR-Racing, took second place in the Crosskart 85-cubic category. Nine-year-old Viljami, who lives in Orivesi, won all three heats he drove. In the final start of the competition, Viljami finished second and arrived at the finish line right on the heels of Iivari Männistö. – Starting acceleration solved a lot when the guy got off the line a little better. Neither of them made any mistakes, so I didn’t get to try to overtake, commented Viljami. There is no room for contacts or crashes, because in the SM series the points of all competitions are counted towards the final points of the series. – Father (Mika Saarinen) gave instructions that you have to drive carefully, and you must not get hit during the race. Reigning Finnish junior champion Iivari Männistö leads the series after two races. Kevin Sundqvist, who drove fourth in Kouvola, is four points away. Viljami Saarinen is third in the table, five points away from the top. Another PR-Racing competitor, Sofia Nummela from Kangasala, drove ninth, when there were a total of 18 promising young drivers in the class. After finishing fourth in the opening race of the season, Sofia’s series ranking after two races is fifth. The third section race of the WC season will be held on the last weekend of July in Jalasjärvi. At the same time, PR-Racing’s organizational machinery is working on the HYAcenter Rally. Chairman’s column

Hello members!

The new year 2024 has already begun, when the first membership magazine of the year reaches the membership. We wish all members a happy and successful year. Our club organized a successful test rally in July before the Finnish World Rally Championship. We got a lot of international visibility in the media for our own rally, and in addition to this, the city of Tampere and the surrounding municipalities also got visibility. Thousands of rally tourists took advantage of the services offered by the business world, Organizing the rally requires more and more card-based marshals, and the club is organizing marshal training in order to get more marshals to join the club. In the coming season, we have a few replacement special tests to take care of, the first of which is the HRT rally in Vilppula on February 24, 2024. In August, PR-Racing also has to take care of the Finnish World Rally Championship special stage. As usual, we organize our own test rally a week before the Finnish World Rally Championship, just like in 2023. As a club, we try to organize all kinds of activities for all members. We have bought a digital driving simulator, which allows you to test car sports at an affordable price. Changes have been made to the club’s stables (Mestarintie 1, Ylöjärvi) and there are now large gathering spaces for the club’s use. Welcome to get to know the renovated stable space in connection with the club evenings. A storage container has been acquired for the club, e.g. for storing special test materials. I thank all members for the past year and wish 2024 a nice start.
