A versatile and developing sport

Karting offers many advantages to young drivers.

In addition to driving skills, the sport develops mental and physical qualities, which are important for a successful career in motorsports.

In competitions on outdoor tracks, average speeds often rise to more than 70 kilometers per hour, and top speeds can be up to 140 km/h, which makes the sport exciting and challenging.

Karting classes

  • Cadett

You can participate as early as 6 years old, and also in national competitions

  • Mini60 and Raket

You can participate in the year you turn 10 years old.

Boys and girls compete in the same classes, which makes the sport equal and diverse.

Karting – an opportunity for everyone

Karting is not just a sport for young people. It also offers competitive and speed-hungry adults many hobby opportunities, such as team competitions for adult enthusiasts.

In addition, it is easy to get into karting by participating in the driving training organized by the local car racing club, where you learn the rules and practice driving under guidance.

The starting point for top drivers

Almost all of Finland’s formula drivers, such as Keke Rosberg, Mika Häkkinen, Mika Salo, Kimi Räikkönen, Valtteri Bottas and Heikki Kovalainen, have started their careers in karting.

They still sometimes drive a karting car, as a hobby and as an exercise, which shows the importance of the sport as the basis of professional sports.

Martti “Mara” Ritonen (born 2008) competes in Europe in a professional team.

Will we also see Mara following the tire tracks of Finnish F1 legends to the podium, for example in the Monaco Grand Prix?
